Welcome to UrbanBook, a platform owned and operated by UrbanBook Innovations LTD, governed by the laws of Zambia. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our platform, whether you are a user, listing owner, or seller. By accessing or using UrbanBook, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you may not use our platform.

1. Definitions

  • “Platform” refers to the UrbanBook website, app, and related services.
  • “User” refers to any individual or entity accessing UrbanBook.
  • “Listing Owner” refers to businesses or individuals who list services, products, or properties on UrbanBook.
  • “Seller” refers to individuals or businesses who sell products or services through UrbanBook.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using UrbanBook, you affirm that you are at least 18 years old or have parental or legal guardian consent. You agree to comply with all applicable laws and these Terms and Conditions.

3. User Accounts

  • Account Creation: To access certain features of the platform, you may be required to create an account by providing accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and are liable for all activities that occur under your account. Notify UrbanBook immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
  • Termination: UrbanBook reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms or for any reason at our discretion.

4. Listings and Transactions

  • Accuracy of Listings: Listing owners and sellers are responsible for ensuring that all content, descriptions, and prices in their listings are accurate and not misleading.
  • Transactions: UrbanBook facilitates transactions between users and sellers. However, we are not responsible for the quality, legality, or safety of the products and services provided.
  • Payments: Payments made through the platform are processed by third-party payment providers. UrbanBook is not liable for payment processing errors or delays.

5. Fees and Charges

  • Fees for Sellers: UrbanBook charges fees for services provided to sellers, including but not limited to listing fees and transaction fees, as outlined in our fee schedule. These fees are non-refundable.
  • Taxes: Sellers are responsible for any applicable taxes related to transactions made through UrbanBook.

6. User Conduct

Users, listing owners, and sellers must not:

  • Use the platform for illegal or fraudulent purposes.
  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory content.
  • Engage in abusive or threatening behavior towards others.
  • Violate intellectual property rights.
  • Circumvent any fees or use UrbanBook for unauthorized commercial purposes.

7. Intellectual Property

  • Ownership: UrbanBook and its associated content, logos, and design are the intellectual property of UrbanBook Innovations LTD. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any content from the platform without prior written consent.
  • User Content: By posting content on UrbanBook, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and display your content.

8. Limitation of Liability

UrbanBook is provided “as is” without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. UrbanBook Innovations LTD is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, damages related to service interruptions, loss of data, or third-party content.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless UrbanBook Innovations LTD, its directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any intellectual property or other rights.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

UrbanBook may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. UrbanBook Innovations LTD is not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of these third-party services.

11. Termination of Service

UrbanBook reserves the right to terminate or suspend access to the platform, with or without notice, for any violation of these terms or for any reason we deem necessary to protect the platform and its users.

12. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any disputes arising from your use of UrbanBook, the parties agree to resolve disputes through arbitration, governed by the laws of Zambia. Any legal claims must be filed in the courts of Zambia.

13. Amendments to Terms

UrbanBook Innovations LTD reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or notifications on the platform. Continued use of the platform following such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
