My friends and I recently visited Ciela Spa with high expectations, but unfortunately, our experience fell short. Upon arrival, the reception was notably unwelcoming; we were not greeted and had to navigate our way to the waiting lounge on our own. We waited approximately 10 - 15 minutes before being attended to, which felt disorganized and unprofessional, especially considering I had made a reservation in advance for the both of us.
The lounge had some refreshments and pastries, but the setup was lacking. There were only a few glasses and plastic cups, and no utensils, plates, or napkins were provided. To add to the discomfort, we noticed leftover food from previous guests on the coffee table, which was quite unappetizing.
She booked a 60- minute Swedish massage and Facial. While I had booked a 75-minute Swedish massage and a 30-minute body scrub (105 minutes). However, the treatment ended at 15:10, despite starting at 13:50, which left me feeling shortchanged regarding the time I had paid for.
Upon returning to the reception after the treatment completed, there was no inquiry about my experience. When I asked for the bill, the amount was read aloud without showing me the receipt initially, which I had to request separately.
While the massage was adequate, it did not stand out as exceptional and could benefit from more training for the therapists.
Overall, the experience did not live up to the high standards expected from a five-star hotel spa. Improvements in customer service, cleanliness, and treatment duration would significantly enhance their service.
Offering an unforgettable experience, Ciêla Resort is a beautiful getaway destination. I finally understand why people want to visit the resort. The stuff are very professional and kind, really new places can be intimidating and it goes without saying that this trait is key to helping visitors feel welcome. Truly a 5 star hotel that I can’t wait to spend the night at.
We stayed for a night at Ciela, here is our experience below.
Ciela is situated on beautiful m. The ambience in the hotel is stunning.
As for the food, the buffet is mediocre. Nothing stands out, nor taste authentic. We were very disappointed in the breakfast buffet. I suggest skipping the expensive buffet and ordering off the menu.
Although it’s not part of Ciela, I highly recommend visiting The brewery! The bartenders make tasty drinks and are wonderful to chat with.
As for the Spa, the treatment was underwhelming. It’s evident that the masseuses did not go to school for massage therapy or received proper training. The same masseuses did our pedicures, which again, they had no idea what they were doing. I do not recommend the spa treatments, however I do recommend using the steam room, suana, and fitness facility (clean gym).
Regarding the overall service of Ciela, it’s not what you’d expect to receive from a 5 star hotel. Unorganized. You’d think working with managers would result in a better experience… Absolutely not. The front desk agents and manager team really need to be better trained on customer service.
Thanks for the stay.
Spa sessions are by appointment, so you will have to book well in advance. I went for a manicure and loved how they had a wide selection of nail colors. Their staff are polite and welcoming.
