Oslo Hotel Lusaka is a splendid beacon of hospitality, reminiscent of a grand explorer's lodge. Its ambiance exudes a blend of modernity with classic charm, inviting guests into a world of comfort and elegance. The rooms offer a cozy respite, akin to a traveler's sanctuary, while the service is attentive and gracious, ensuring a stay that's both memorable and rejuvenating. It's a true jewel in Lusaka's crown, promising an experience of serene luxury.
A decent hotel with a lot of right priorities but also clear room for improvements.
The rooms are of adequate size, with nice curtains and floor tiles. We were given a queen size bed, which was comfortable and neat. There was a balcony with two plastic garden chairs facing the airport and the morning sun. There was also a wide screen TV with six of the same channel, containing only advertisements and no programs, so it was unusable for us. There was also a mirror on the floor in one of the corners of the room, facing a wardrobe; also unusable in its current position. A water boiler, two coffe satchels and two bottles of water was also provided. However, the water boiler was dirty inside, and had a dead insect on the bottom. Lastly, we found some trash on the floor, as well as a row of ants parading from the main door to the balcony door for our entire stay.
The bathroom has a toilet, a sink and a shower. The good part is the tiling, the hot and cold water supply and provision of hygiene articles like soaps, shampoo and toothbrushes. On the other hand, the toilet seat was loose, the hinges were very dirty and the lid was not attached. There was an electrical outlet for a hair dryer or corded shaving machine, but it was on the opposite wall of the mirror, so it means turning every time you want to check your progress. Lastly, there were no shower doors, so I was soaked when using the toilet while my husband used the shower.
The best part of this hotel is the location, being very close to the airport. The restaurant has tasty food for a decent price, but we had a lot of bad beef cuts (we ordered the beef stew with chips). The rap music was not pleasant for dining, and it was also weird to be asked what we want to order before being given a menu. There are conference rooms and a nice and large swimming pool.
The whole hotel shows signs of being unfinished and/or under construction or improvement, with a lot of noise from trucks and workers as well as unfinished electrical work hanging out of the walls. The layout of the hotel is not that user friendly, with a lot of hallways and stairs, but the staff is very friendly and helpful.
All in all, we had a pleasant stay, but there are definitely ways to easily improve the experience.
I just ate from there. The customer service is good and the food is tasty though it was a tad bit spicy for me but it was good.
It looks like a clean place ,I didn't get to go to the rooms. it's located close to the airport.
