Milla’s
East park Mall
A lovely cafe located in the East Park Mall. Tastefully decorated … almost like an English Tea Room.
I enjoyed their Eggs Benedict with salmon… my all time favourite.
Very well prepared. Service is good, selection of dishes on the menu is vast.
A fellow traveler said this restaurant has "the best cappuccinos in Lusaka". Wow I had two and ended up staying for lunch given the cool breeze and friendly professional service. Thank you Aubrey! ☺️ I'm not usually an "avo and toast" kind of person but may need to change my tune. It was delicious, especially with the green chili sauce. I only thought to take a photo when it was mostly gone....
Milla was once one of my favorites. However, my recent visit left me disappointed. I ordered three items, and unfortunately, the quality of two of them has noticeably declined.
The Simple Ones: This used to be a go-to for me, but yesterday it fell short. The butter was missing, the scrambled eggs tasted oily, and the bacon was inconsistent—one piece burnt, the other undercooked. This isn’t the standard I’ve come to expect after ordering this dish multiple times.
Breakfast Waffle: While I appreciate the creativity, it didn’t live up to expectations. The pesto sauce was flavorful but insufficient for the portion size, and the other sauce was tasted just like mayonnaise. At K145 for one waffle and two eggs, it feels overpriced. Adding bacon for an extra K50? That seems excessive.
Mushroom Fritters: Thankfully, these were as delicious as I remembered.
Milla has potential, but consistency and attention to detail are crucial for maintaining a loyal customer base. Please focus on maintaining the quality that once made you stand out. Thank you!
*latest edit* okay so we tried to give Milas another go. The food is average, when they get it right. I'm convinced now it's not the meal itself but the way they just make stuff up. What you order from the menu is not what you get. For example I ordered a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich, and this is what I got...would you call this a toasted anything? .The waiters try, but I think the chefs need to just serve what's on the menu.
Arrived around 10:30 for a couple coffee drinks and perhaps a desert waitress seated us we asked about cheese cakes available and ordered our drinks, 10:50 still no coffees and still no update on what was available regarding cheese cakes. All attempts to flag waiters and waitresses failed during that time as they were all crowded around the point of sale systems and ignoring a relatively full house completely. Sadly service here has fallen very short the last few times I have visited the only time we were noticed by waiters/waitresses was when we were walking out, I cannot recommend this cafe until they resolve the issue with their service.
