The Escape Lodge

Slightly disappointed with the service and lack of organisation. The room was clean and had a comfortable bed however no water from the sink, water worked for the shower and bath but lacks pressure so really slow. One towel in the room for two people. Lots of mosquitos in the room! We were told dinner was available until 9.30pm when we arrived at 7.30 they said they were closed. Meaning we went to bed hungry. We checked to make sure our bikes were safe on the premises when we checked in and we were told it was very safe. Then we had security ask us to take all our bags in, when I asked why, he said it wasn't safe. To us our motorcycles are valuable, whilst nothing happened to them we were left worried that our property would not be safe here. Breakfast was really slow making us late for an appointment, despite the fact we were told it would be ready by 7.30 when we arrived it was like she didn't know we were coming, staff were outside taking photos of the other guests. They had to send someone out for milk so we had to wait for that. We chose the continental breakfast and we didn't get everything listed on the list. No fruit and no juice we had to ask for coffee. Bread and not toast, beans turned up after we finished the eggs and the cornflakes had hard pieces in that hurt my teeth? I've never had cornflakes like that. The waitress seemed so uninterested in us we felt like an inconvenience. It's a real shame as I think this place has potential to be a great hotel, but the service provided is seriously lacking.

I stayed there one night. They supplied power till midnight. Then they cut. The shower, there was no soap or shampoo. One single towel for a suit room Towels were white to gray. In the morning. THEY TOLD that the check out is 10 or something which is unusual. I the morning, there was no water, no towel. In the room, there was no drinking water. They told us that we buy from restaurants. And I paid K800 Morning, the breakfast lady was nice and kind. That is the only positive. Of course the aircon remote was taken from room so that we do not use it TV was rubbish no channels were clear. I asked blanket and additional towel, the receptionist brought it, like I killed his dog. So, before you get 200 real user comments and 4.5 average, no need to go there.

It is an average lodge considering the charges. Positive points: Reception: Well behaved and helpful Parking: good parking space. Rooms: spacious rooms with cupboards, good beds, aircons and TV were good. Cleanliness: Neat and clean. Ambiance: good Restaurant/Bar/Breakfast area: Very good service. Well mannered staff. Good food. Negative points: The rooms require maintenance.

The service was absolutely fantastic, very helpful customer service trained staff,who are proud of what they do, what with the kitchen staff, well done n spiced t bone.... The pool jus adds and accentuates the character of the lodge.I would make the lodge my first point of call due to their clean and functional facility, aircons, showers tidy and neat linen

I recently stayed at The Escape Lodge in Lusaka and it was the best accommodation I have ever experienced in Zambia. The location was great as it was within walking distance to two major mall outlets, medical clinics and more! The newly built suites offered clean, spacious, modern amenities, a perfectly sized bathtub for larger bodies like mine, a separate shower and a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant had an excellent menu with both local and international options, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast was filling and the chefs made the T-Bone steak so incredibly delicious that I literally ate the same thing every night for over a week. Yes, that's correct - I ordered the T-Bone steak every single day and enjoyed every last bite! The only "dislike" I can express is that the lodge also serves as an events center and has a public pool bar in the back which can tend to be very noisy if that's not your kind of entertainment source. Also, the wifi was pretty bad but when I expressed my concerns to the receptionist and the managers on duty, they were extremely helpful and offered alternative solutions while they worked on making the signal strength better. It turned out to be a provider issue and not the property's fault. The staff were especially attentive to any questions/concerns that I had and were kind, thoughtful and responsive. All in all, this is a great place to stay while visiting Lusaka!
